Woke up at 3:45 a.m. So this is jetlag. Adrienne was awake too so we attempted to watch TV but finally we gave up and turned on the lights. Then a quick thunderstorm blew through. We opened our window to hear the sound of raindrops crashing onto to cobblestone streets below. It came and went too quick to put us back to sleep, but it was still refreshing. Got in a quick workout and ate a light breakast on the terrace of the hotel rooftop. Dawn in Istanbul is just as breathtaking a view as dusk. There was even a rainbow over the Bosphorus. Goosebumps!
Our first stop was onto a cruise boat. Our cruise over the Bosphorus was fantastic. We had such a fun time and Orhan was cracking jokes between his informational speeches. When we entered the boat, we were in Europe, but we exited the boat in Asia. This is going to be a great day.
Next, we went to the art studio of Hikmet Barutougil, master of the art of Ebru (paper marbling.) Unfortunately, he was unable to attend because of a family emergency, but his apprentice was terrific. She demonstrated and then helped a few of us create our own Ebru "art." Mine perfectly articulated my general creativity - 2 people clapped out of sympathy. It was still great to hang out at the studio, drink tea, eat pastries, visit with locals and overlook the Bosphorus. Now we are on the bus headed to a seafood lunch. Yum.

I am loving this! You not only crack me up but appear to be becoming a little more "deep" and "soulfull" while overseas, ahh it will do it to you! Keep the factoids coming, I for one am getting smarter...Thanks Becca!
